The University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (www.ehu.eus) is the public university of the Basque Autonomous Community in Spain. UPV/EHU has been recognized as International Excellence Campus by the Spanish Government, being ranked in the world’s 400 top universities (Shanghai Ranking). In 2021, UPV/EHU received the Award for HR Excellence in Research by the EU. UPV/EHU has around 45 000 students (4 000 graduate students), 5 000 members of the academic staff and state-of-the-art facilities distributed across 20 centers in its three campuses. UPV/EHU gathers 290 research groups with a scientific output of over 35 articles/week in journals in the first quartile, and 45% of the publications on competitive journals (WoS and Scopus) are the result of international collaborations.
